Because of Florida’s abortion restrictions, Lucile needed to travel to the nearest available abortion appointment – all the way up in New York.
Her appointment would take place over two days, which meant she needed a hotel and transportation to and from the airport, her hotel, and her appointment. Plus Lucile’s provider required that she have someone escort her home after the procedure.
The challenges Lucile faced are increasingly common with the rise in abortion restrictions. Without enough money and support, many people can’t get to the abortion they need.

With the help of trusted, on-the-ground partners, The Brigid Alliance team tapped into a locally based network of volunteers, which found someone to accompany Lucile to and from her appointment. We planned all of the logistics so Lucile could focus on herself and her family.
After the procedure, Lucile sent a message:
