For Clients
How can I get support from Brigid?

Please ask the clinic or abortion fund assisting you to make a referral to us on your behalf. If we are able to support you we will be in touch within 24-48 hours from the time we receive the referral. Visit our need support page for more information.

My appointment is in a few days, will I still be able to get support?

While we prefer to be in touch with you as soon as possible, we understand that sometimes timing is out of your control. Please call your clinic or funding organization to be referred to us as soon as possible

I am bringing someone with me as my escort to my appointment. Can Brigid also help with their travel costs?

We understand that it is often ideal (and sometimes required by the clinic) to have a companion for your travels. Please let us know if your companion is in need of financial support for their travel as well and we will do all we can to support them. If it is required by the clinic or for your ability to travel, we will guarantee support.

Where can I go for an abortion?

This depends on where you live and the type of procedure you are seeking. If you need assistance finding an abortion provider, please visit Need Support? to get information about our partner clinics and other clinics around the country

We Testify invests in abortion storytellers to elevate their voices and expertise, particularly those of color, those from rural and conservative communities, those who are queer-identified, those with varying abilities and citizenship statuses, and those who needed support when navigating barriers while accessing abortion care.

General Questions
Who is Brigid?

In the 7th century, St. Brigid of Kildare helped a young woman who had broken her vow of chastity and became pregnant. According to legend, Brigid waved her hands over the woman’s belly and, “exercising the strength of her ineffable faith, blessed her, caused the fetus to disappear without coming to birth, and without pain.”

I am an immigrant and/or a non-US citizen, am I eligible for support?

Yes. Brigid works with all individuals regardless of immigration status. Please reach out to us as soon as possible so your Brigid Coordinator can support in putting together a travel plan that best matches your travel situation and status.

How does my clinic or organization partner with The Brigid Alliance?

The Brigid Alliance is always looking to expand our network of partners. If you are a clinic providing abortion care past 15 weeks or an organization supporting reproductive rights, access, and care, please contact us.

Are you still assisting people during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Brigid has remained committed to assisting individuals throughout the pandemic. Though the impact of COVID-19 may appear to trend toward normalization, the effects of the virus continue. Brigid can and will adjust to meet assistance needs in case of sudden changes in restrictions and protocols.

If you need support, please reach out to your abortion fund or one of our partner clinics for a referral.
