On July 17 The Brigid Alliance’s Director of Client Services, Mariely Neris Rodriguez, appeared on a panel as part of Operation Save Abortion, a day of action, information, and fundraising for abortion access.
The panel, hosted by Renee Bracey Sherman of We Testify, also featured Marie Khan of Midwest Access Coalition, Oriaku Njoku of ARC Southeast and National Network of Abortion Funds, and Poonam Dreyfus-Pai of All Options. It focused on how to help patients access care – and now, you can watch the entire panel on YouTube:
“At the Brigid Alliance, we really focus on ensuring that whatever it is that we do, we do it thinking about what the person that we’re serving is telling us is best for them,” Mariely said in the panel. “However you get involved, whatever you do, whoever you get involved with, do it because it is what is best for the people who you’re serving and not because it’s what’s best for you. This is not about how you would treat your pregnancy, this is not about how you would treat your body. It’s about how other people decide for themselves.”
Dreyfus-Pai concluded the panel, “We’ve known that Roe was going to fall for a long time, and we have been building this work for a long time – so we need you in the work for the long haul, too.”
