In the wake of the Dobbs ruling in June 2022, public awareness of The Brigid Alliance and our work supporting travel for abortion-seekers skyrocketed. We’re profoundly grateful that donors nationwide have not only discovered our work, but also grasped the critical gap we fill and responded with remarkable generosity. We are honored that our mission of helping people who are forced to travel for abortion care has resonated nationwide. 

What you may not know, however, is that The Brigid Alliance is part of a robust ecosystem of practical support organizations that all collaborate to support people on their journeys to abortion care. These local and regional groups, while perhaps less visible on the national stage, provide invaluable local insights and specialized services that our team relies on daily to serve our clients.

With heartfelt gratitude for this collaboration and recognition of funding shortfalls that abortion access organizations are facing during this time of crisis, The Brigid Alliance has made the decision to grant $1 million to more than 20 organizations that we turn to in our day-to-day work. These groups are working urgently to meet increased demand for their services and are critical partners. 

Brigid collaborates closely with these groups to help ensure people can access abortion care. For example, the Colorado Doula Project provides rides for Brigid’s clients between the airport, hotel, and the abortion clinic, and the Tampa Bay Abortion Fund connects Brigid’s clients from Florida to trusted OBGYNs in the area for follow-up care post-abortion.

While The Brigid Alliance is not a funder, it is our mission to provide and expand practical support for people who need to travel to access abortion care. Supporting these organizations will help us do that more effectively. Learn more about each of the organizations:
